Christian Camargo (Dexter) will take on the title role in Trevor Nunn's upcoming production of Shakespeare's Pericles, a production of Theatre for a New Audience at the Polonsky Shakespeare Center in Brooklyn. The drama runs from February 14-March 27, with opening night set for February 25.

Pericles, one of Shakespeare's late plays, is part of Theatre for a New Audience's season-long celebration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. This production, featuring music by Shaun Davey, marks British-born Tony-winning director Nunn's first time directing Pericles, and also his first time staging Shakespeare with an American company.

Camargo's history with the company includes productions of Coriolanus and Hamlet, for which he won an Obie Award. Best known on television as the Ice Truck Killer on Dexter, Camargo's stage credits also include Skylight, All My Sons, and Romeo and Juliet, among other shows.

Founded in 1979 by Jeffrey Horowitz, Theatre for a New Audience produces Shakespeare alongside other major authors from the world repertoire, such as Harley Granville Barker, Edward Bond, Adrienne Kennedy, Wallace Shawn, and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. Theatre for a New Audience has played off and on Broadway and toured nationally and internationally.
