A More Perfect Union: Stories of Prejudice and Power, presented in conjunction with USA Network’s
Characters Unite Month, at the New York Public Lilbrary on Monday, December 6.
Among the participants was Mos Def, currently appearing on Broadway in A Free Man of Color, who joined other storytellers, each of whom shared a true, ten-minute story of his or her experience with bigotry or discrimination.
The evening was part of a national series of five Characters Unite Mainstage showcases, in partnership with renowned storytelling organization The Moth.
Attendees included Matt Bomer, Tom Brokaw, Peter Gallagher, Willie Garson, Dulé Hill, Piper Perabo, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Salman Rushdie, Sarah Shahi, Reshma Shetty, Tiffani Thiessen, and Frederick Weller.
USA Network’s ongoing Characters Unite public service campaign aims to combat prejudice and discrimination in partnership with leading nonprofit organizations.
