MCC Theater has announced complete casting for Carrie, which will begin previews on January 31 at the Lucile Lortel Theatre, in anticipation of an official opening on March 1. Stafford Arima will direct the production, which will have choreography by Matt Williams and music direction and arrangements by Mary-Mitchell Campbell.

Based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel, the musical features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen, music by Michael Gore, and lyrics by Dean Pitchford and centers on Carrie White, an outcast at her high school in Chamberlain, Maine, who’s bullied by the popular crowd, and at the mercy of her loving but cruelly over-protective mother.

In addition to the previously announced Molly Ranson in the title role and Marin Mazzie as Carrie’s mother, Margaret, the company will feature Christy Altomare, Carmen Cusack, Jeanna de Waal, Derek Klena, Ben Thompson, Wayne Wilcox, Corey Boardman, Blair Goldberg, F. Michael Haynie, Andy Mientus, Elly Noble, and Jen Sese. The show’s understudies will be Mackenzie Bell, Jake Boyd: and Anne Tolpegin.

The creative team will also include David Zinn (scenic design), Emily Rebholz (costume design), Kevin Adams (lighting design), Sven Ortel (projections design), and Jonathan Deans (sound design). Doug Besterman will provide orchestrations and AnnMarie Milazzo will serve as vocal designer.
