Playwright Horton Foote will participate in a pre-performance talk for his play Dividing the Estate, currently running at Broadway’s Booth Theater. The talk will take place in the lobby of the Vivian Beaumont Theater on Thursday, November 13, between 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm.

The talk is being presented as part of Lincoln Center Theater’s “Platform Series,” a forum for public discussion between Lincoln Center Theater artists and interested theatergoers. Dividing the Estate is a comedy about a family that must confront its past as it prepares for its future. It was presented earlier this season by Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters.

The production reunites the entire 13-person Off-Broadway cast, which includes Elizabeth Ashley, Hallie Foote, Penny Fuller, Devon Abner, James DeMarse, Pat Bowie, Arthur French, Virginia Kull, Maggie Lacey, Nicole Lowrance, Gerald McRaney, Jenny Dare Paulin, and Keiana Richard. The creative team includes Jeff Cowie (sets), David C. Woolard (costumes), Rui Rita (lighting), and John Gromada (original music and sound), the play’s original design team.

Foote won the Pulitzer Prize for The Young Man from Atlanta; his many other plays include The Trip to Bountiful, The Traveling Lady, and The Carpetbagger’s Children.

Admission to the pre-performance talk is free and open to all; however, seating in the lobby is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis only, beginning at 5:30 pm. Speakers and schedules are subject to change. Call 212-362-7600 to confirm on the day of the event.
