Pasadena Playhouse Announces 2008 Season

The Pasadena Playhouse has announced the first five offerings of its 2008 season. A sixth show will be announced at a later date.

The season will consist of Austin Pendleton’s Orson’s Shadow (January 11-February 17), which imagines a fictional meeting between Orson Welles and Sir Laurence Olivier; the new musical Mask (March 17-April 13), based on the hit film of the same name about a disfigured boy, with a book by Anna Hamilton Phelan, music by Barry Mann, lyrics by Cynthia Weill, and direction by Richard Maltby; John Steinbeck’s classic tale Of Mice and Men (May 2-June 8); George Bernard Shaw’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession (June 27-August 3), about a proper young woman who learns how her mother made her fortune; and the pre-Broadway tryout of the new musical Vanities (August 22-Septmber 28), featuring a book by Jack Heifner based on his play of the same name, a score by David Kirshenbaum, and direction by Tony Award winner Judith Ivey.
