Matt Cavenaugh, Hannah Cabell, Daniel Jenkins, Beth Fowler, Allen McCullough, Liz Morton, Brian Murray, Marian Seldes, Jennifer Smith, and David Staller will star in Project Shaw‘s staged reading of George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, to take place at 7pm on Monday, December 17 at the Players’ Club.

The reading will be produced and directed by Staller. It will be narrated by New York Post columnist Michael Reidel, and Time Out NY critic David Cote will host the event.

Pygmalion is Shaw’s most famous and iconographic play. It revolves around Professor Henry Higgins (Staller) who takes a poor Cockney girl named Eliza Doolittle (Cabell) off the streets and tutors her in diction in order to pass her off as a society lady. The play was the basis for the musical My Fair Lady. A separate production of Pygmalion is currently being produced by the Roundabout Theatre Company with Claire Danes and Jefferson Mays in the leads.

This reading is the 22nd of Project Shaw’s four-year series, devoted to presenting every play ever written by Shaw. For more information, visit www.ProjectShaw.com.
