Michael McKean and Megan Lawrence will play Hines and Gladys in the Roundabout Theater Company’s revival of the musical The Pajama Game. The production will be directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall; it will run at the American Airlines Theater from January 19 through June 11 and is scheduled to open officially on February 23.

The Pajama Game will star Harry Connick, Jr. as Sid Sorokin and Kelli O’Hara as Babe Williams. The cast also includes Broadway veterans Peter Benson (Prez), Joyce Chittick (Mae/Steam Heat), Jennifer Cody (Poopsie), Michael McCormick (Pop/Ganzenlicher), Richard Poe (Hasler), and Roz Ryan (Mabel). The ensemble wil consist of Bridget Berger, Stephen Berger, Kate Chapman, Paula Leggett Chase, David Eggers, Michael O’Donnell, Vince Pesce, Devin Richards, Jeffrey Schechter, Amber Stone, and Debra Walton. The show’s creative team includes Derek McLane (sets), Martin Pakledinaz (costumes), Peter Kazcorowksi (lighting), and David Chase (musical direction).

McKean was last seen on Broadway as Edna in Hairspray and Off-Broadway in A Second Hand Memory. He is best known for his film work, including A Mighty Wind, This is Spinal Tap, and The Big Picture, and his television appearances on Saturday Night Live and Laverne & Shirley. Lawrence was an original cast member of Urinetown and was seen this past summer as Lucetta in Two Gentlemen of Verona in Central Park.

Based on the novel 7½ Cents, by Richard Bissell, The Pajama Game originally opened on Broadway in 1954. It concerns the thorny love affair between a pajama factory superintendent and a feisty union representative. The musical’s original book, by Bissell and George Abbott, is being adapted for this revival by Peter Ackerman. The Richard Adler-Jerry Ross score for the show includes such hits as “Hey There,” “Steam Heat,” and “Hernando’s Hideaway.”
