Eden Espinosa, Carol Kane, and Derrick Williams will join the Broadway cast of Wicked on January 10. Espinosa will replace Shoshana Bean as Elphaba, a role she has previously played on Broadway (as a standby for Idina Menzel) and in San Francisco. The singer-actress is best known for her work in Brooklyn: The Musical.

Kane will take on the role of Madam Morrible, which she played on the show’s national tour. She replaces Rue McLanahan. Kane has been seen on Broadway in Ring Around the Bathtub, The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the Moon Marigolds, and the 2004 revival of Sly Fox. She received two Emmy Awards for her work on Taxi and an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Hester Street.

Williams will replace David Ayers in the role of Fiyero, which he previously understudied on Broadway and played on the show’s national tour. His Broadway credits include Aida and Swing!

Continuing in Wicked are Megan Hilty (Glinda), Ben Vereen (the Wizard), Michelle Federer (Nessarose), Sean McCourt (Dr. Dillamond), and Robb Sapp (Boq).
