New York City Ballet's George Balanchine's The Nutcracker will be broadcast from the David H. Koch Theater as part of PBS' Live From Lincoln Center series on December 14 at 8pm (check local listings).

Set to Tchikovsky's score, Balanchine's production premiered on February 2, 1954. The broadcast will feature New York City Ballet's dancers and the New York City Ballet Orchestra, as well as 50 children from the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet.

The creative team for the production includes Rouben Ter-Arutunian (scenic design), Karinska (costume design), and Mark Stanley (lighting design), after the original design by Ronald Bates.
