On Monday, October 18, TheaterMania spoke with Emmy Award winner Candice Bergen at a sneak peek at the St. George’s Society’s benefit reading of Stephen Sondheim’s never-before-staged musical Evening Primrose, which will be presented at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College on Monday October 25.

Tony Walton will direct the performance, which will feature Sean Palmer, Jessica Grove, John Cunningham, Bill Duell, John Windsor Cunningham, Carmen de Lavallade, Frederic Franklin, and Sondra Lee. The concert will feature orchestrations by Sean Patrick Flahaven, music direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell, sound design by Bernard Fox, and lighting design by Richard Pilbrow.

Bergen, who appeared on stage in Hurlyburly, discussed what it would take to get her back to Broadway and about her upcoming guest-starring role on FOX’s House and working with the show’s star, Hugh Laurie.

TheaterMania will post a video feature featuring Bergen and other members of the production later this week.
