Jonathan Bank has taken over as director for the Mint Theater’s production of Maurine Dallas Watkins’ So Help Me God!, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, November 18-December 20, with an opening on December 7. Bank (who is the Mint’s artistic director) replaces Martin Platt who has left “for personal reasons,” according to a press statement.

The play is about a fabulous dramatic diva (played by Kristen Johnston) who must fend off a challenge from her ambitious but naïve understudy (played by Anna Chlumsky). The work was written 20 years before All About Eve.

The cast also includes Brad Bellamy, Catherine Curtin, Amy Fitts, Jeremy Lawrence, Ned Noyes, Kevin O’Donnell, John G. Preston, Allen Lewis Rickman, Kraig Swartz, Peter Van Wagner, Matthew Waterson, Margot White, and John Windsor-Cunningham. The creative team will include Bill Clarke (set), Clint Ramos (costumes), Robert Wierzel (lightin), and Jane Shaw (sound).
