A special event to commemorate the opening of the box office for Irving Berlin’s White Chritsmas will be held from 11pm-noon on Monday, October 6 at the Marquis Theater. In addition to appearances by the show’s stars in costume, there will be a holiday tree-lighting and free beverages by Starbucks. In addition, ticket buyers will receive free copies of the San Francisco cast recording (on Ghostlight Records) and the chance to win opening night tickets.

The show, to be directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie, with choreography by Randy Skinner, and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake, will run November 14-January 4, with an opening set for November 23. The 33-person cast will be led by Stephen Bogardus (Bob Wallace), Charles Dean (General Henry Waverly), Kerry O’Malley (Betty Haynes), Jeffry Denman (Phil Davis), Susan Mansur (Martha Watson), and Meredith Patterson (Judy Haynes). The creative team includes Anna Louizos (sets), Carrie Robbins (costumes), Ken Billington (lighting), Acme Sound Partners (sound), and Larry Blank (orchestrations).

The plot revolves around two show business buddies, Bob Wallace and Phil Davis, who put on a show in a picturesque Vermont inn and find their perfect mates in the bargain — sister act Betty and Judy Haynes. The score includes such Berlin classics as “Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep,” “Sisters,” “How Deep is the Ocean,” and the title song.
