David Hyde Pierce to Host MTW’s "Bravo Bernstein!" Gala

On Monday, November 24 at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street), Musical Theatre Works will present its 20th annual gala. Titled “Bravo Berstein! A Broadway Tribute,” the event will be hosted by David Hyde Pierce (a.k.a. Niles Crane on TV’s Frasier), who has appeared on Broadway in The Heidi Chronicles and Beyond Therapy.

Pierce will be joined by such performers as Harolyn Blackwell, Judy Blazer, Betty Buckley, Michael Cerveris, Jason Daniely, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Sara Ramirez, and Mary Testa. The gala will be directed by Lonny Price, and Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown will serve as musical director. The event will celebrate the compositions of Bernstein (1918-1990), whose esteemed work for Broadway includes the scores for the musicals On the Town (1944), Wonderful Town (1953), Candide (1956), West Side Story (1957), and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue (1976).
