Mona Mansour, Richard Nelson, Jonathan Marc Sherman Set for Public LAB Season

The Public Theater has announced the plays that will be offered as part of the the 2010-2011 Public LAB season, which will begin with the world premiere of Richard Nelson’s That Hopey Changey Thing, to run October 26 – November 14, with an official opening of November 2. Nelson will direct the play, which focuses on a family as they wait for the polls to close on election day 2010.

The LAB season will continue in the spring with Mona Mansour’s Urge for Going, to run March 25 – April 17. The play, also receiving its world premiere, centers on a 17-year-old Palestinian girl growing up in a Lebanese refugee camp and will be directed by Hal Brooks. Jonathan Marc Sherman’s Knickerbocker, directed by Pippin Parker, will run May 6 – May 29. The play, receiving its New York premiere, looks at a man as he and his wife await the birth of their son.

One additional Public LAB show, opening this winter, will be announced at a later date.
