Marvell Rep to Present God of Vengeance and Spring’s Awakening

Marvell Rep is set to present Sholem Asch’s God of Vengeance and Frank Wedekind’s Spring’s Awakening in repertory for the second half of their “Burned and Banned” season. All plays will be performed at TBG Theatre.

God of Vengeance (October 2-28),translated by Joseph C. Landis, centers on a brothel owner whose dreams of keeping his daughter pure are ruined when she falls in love with one of his “girls.”

Spring’s Awakening (October 8-November 4) is a play about the madness of youth, bad parenting, sex, suicide, and sadomasochism, on which the Broadway musical Spring Awakening is based.

The season’s design team will include Tijana Bjelajac (set design), Susan Nester (costume design), and Nicholas Houfek (lighting design).
