Back2Broadway Celebration to Feature Karaoke and Dance Classes in Times Square

The Broadway League has announced a host of events that will comprise Back2Broadway Month, a month-long celebration of Broadway that will kick off on September 9.

Some offerings are longstanding traditions in the city, including the annual Broadway on Broadway concert (September 13), the Broadway Care/Equity Fights AIDS Flea Market (September 27) and Kids’ Night on Broadway (September 15-16). Others are newly organized, including Broadway Salutes (September 22), which will honor theater professionals celebrating the 25th, 35th and 50th anniversaries of their careers on Broadway.

There will also be public karaoke events (Thursdays, September 10-24) and Broadway Dance Studio (September 18 & 25), which will give people the chance to learn Broadway dance steps, with both series held in the middle of Times Square. Other offerings include backstage tours, live tapings of SiriusXM Radio programs with Seth Rudetsky at the Times Square Information Center, and special panel discussions. There will be a special Twitter event on September 20, and many shows will be hosting special post-performance talkback discussions.
