Brown, Bundy, Hart, Newman, Noll, White, et al. Set for New York Pops Season

Revised casting has been announced for the New York Pops 2008-2009 season at Carnegie Hall.

On Friday, October 17, the Pops will celebrate the music of Leonard Bernstein, with conductor Constantine Kitsopoulos and guest stars Sara Caswell, Fred Hersch, Phyllis Newman, Christiane Noll, Martin Sola, and Lillias White.

On Friday, November 7, the Pops celebrates its 25th anniversary with classic songs of New York and the world premiere of original songs about the city by Kenneth Laub. Vinnie Falcone and Eric Stern will conduct, and guest artists will include Ashley Brown, Laura Bell Bundy, Linda Hart, and Clint Holmes.

On Friday, December 19, Rob Fisher and the King’s Singers will present a festive program of holiday favorites; on Friday, March 6, Carl Davis will conduct an evening of music from the James Bond films with guest vocalists Mary Carewe and Simon Bowman; and on Friday, April 3, conductor Martin Yates will celebrate the 80th birthday of Broadway composer Charles Strouse.
