Carol Burnett, Martin Sheen, Alan Alda, and More Will Return to Broadway in A.R. Gurney's Love Letters

Diana Rigg and Mia Farrow will also take part in the drama’s first-ever revival.

A rotating cast made up of Carol Burnett, Dame Diana Rigg, Martin Sheen, and more will star in the first-ever Broadway revival of A.R. Gurney's Love Letters, which will play the Nederlander Theatre beginning Saturday, September 13.

Directed by Gregory Mosher, the two-character drama will open on September 18. The production team includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Jane Greenwood (costume design), and Peter Kaczorowski (lighting design).

Carol Burnett and Brian Dennehy (October 11-November 7)
Alan Alda and Candice Bergen (November 8-December 5)
Stacy Keach and Diana Rigg (December 6-January 9)
Anjelica Huston and Martin Sheen (January 10-February 1)

Love Letters, which was named a finalist for the 1990 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, follows the lifelong friendship of artist Melissa and politician Andrew over the course of 50 years through the letters they exchange. Previous productions have starred Jason Robards and Colleen Dewhurst, Elaine Stritch and Cliff Robertson, and John Rubenstein and Stockard Channing.
