HBO Renews Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom For Second Season

HBO has renewed its new series The Newsroom about life at a cable news network, for a second season, according to Variety.
The series, which is written by Oscar winner and Broadway playwright Aaron Sorkin, premiered on Sunday, June 24.
The cast features Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, Alison Pill, Olivia Munn, Dev Patel, John Gallagher, Jr., Thomas Sadoski, and Jane Fonda.
In related news, HBO has also renewed its hit series True Blood, which is created by playwright Alan Ball. Its cast features stage veterans Anna Paquin, Christopher Meloni, and Rutina Wesley.
