Rupert Everett to Star in St. Trinian’s II Film

Blithe Spirit star Rupert Everett will appear in the film St. Trinian’s II: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold, to be produced and directed by Oliver Parker and Barnaby Thompson, according to Variety.

The film, a sequel to the original St. Trinian’s film – which is scheduled for a U.S. release later this year — has the pupils and staff of the anarchic girls’ school engage in a hunt for treasure and a battle against a women-hating secret society.

The cast also includes Colin Firth, Gemma Arterton, Talulah Riley, Jodie Whittaker, Juno Temple, Tamsin Egerton, Celia Imrie, Fenella Woolgar, David Tennant, Sarah Harding, Ella Smith, Zawe Ashton, and Montserrat Lombard.

Everett’s other film credits include Another Country, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Stage Beauty, and The Madness of King George.
