The British-born Rupert Everett is making his Broadway debut with Blithe Spirit. His breakthrough performance as an actor was in the 1982 London production of Another Country, which he later repeated in the movie version. Other films include Shrek 2 and 3, My Best Friend's Wedding; The Next Best Thing, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Stage Beauty, The Importance of Being Earnest, An Ideal Husband, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare in Love, The Madness of King George, Prêt-à-Porter, and Dance with a Stranger. He has also worked as a pop singer and novelist and has modeled for Versace, Valentino, and Yves St. Laurent.
