Playwright Keith Huff has sold the film rights to his play A Steady Rain, according to a story in The Hollywood Reporter. Frederick Zollo and “James Bond” producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson (who are also among the producers for the Broadway engagement which stars Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig), are the team who have bought the rights.

Huff will adapt his play which focuses on two Chicago cops who are lifelong friends and whose differing accounts of a few harrowing days change their lives forever. Rain was developed at NY Stage and Film and The Barrow Group before its premiere at Chicago Dramatists in 2007. It was subsequently produced at London’s Royal Court Theatre.
