Hugh Jackman was born in Sydney, Australia. Jackman is known worldwide for playing Wolverine in the X-Men movies. His other film work includes Kate & Leopold, Australia, and Van Helsing. He made a big splash in 2003 when he starred as fellow Australian Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz; he won the Drama Desk, Theatre World, and Tony Awards for his performance. He has hosted the Tony Awards three times, winning an Emmy Award in 2004 for his performance on the telecast; in 2009 he hosted the Academy Awards. He was last seen on Broadway opposite Daniel Craig in A Steady Rain. Jackman is the husband of actress Deborra-Lee Furness.
