The York Theatre Company’s fall Musicals in Mufti series will feature four shows with books by Joseph Stein.

The series will start with Zorba (September 14-16), an adaptation of Nikos Kazantzakis’ novel about the lusty Greek fisherman, with a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb. Up next are Enter Laughing (September 28-30) with a score by Stan Daniels; The Body Beautiful (October 12-14), co-authored by Will Glickman and featuring a score by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick; and the revised version of Stephen Schwartz’s cult favorite The Baker’s Wife (October 26-28), which closed before making it to Broadway.

In other York news, the company will present Triumphant Baby, a revue of songs by Joe Iconis and Robert Maddock, starring Lorinda Lisitza and directed by Brad Oscar. It will run Mondays, August 13, 20 and 27, and September 10.

Iconis and Maddock are the winners of the Jonathan Larson award; their musical The Black Suits will be presented by MCC Theater later this season. Lisitza is a popular cabaret singer; her acting credits include Happy End and Mother Courage.
Oscar is best known for his work in The Producers, in which he played Franz Liebkind and later Max Bialystock.
