The Broadway musical Lennon has postponed its opening until Sunday, August 14 at 3 pm.
The show was scheduled to open on Thursday, August 4; that performance has now been cancelled. All other performances will go on as scheduled.

“We have delayed the opening to allow Don Scardino and our creative team the opportunity to make adjustments to the show,” stated producer Allen McKeown “We’ve moved the opening to the following week in order to make fundamental changes to the opening and closing scenes of the show, including adding an additional song from the John Lennon catalogue.”

The show is based on the life and music of former Beatle John Lennon, and is being produced with the cooperation of his widow Yoko Ono. The cast of Lennon includes Will Chase, Chuck Cooper, Julie Danao-Salkin, Mandy Gonzalez, Marcy Harriell, Chad Kimball, Terrence Mann, Julia Murney, and Michael Potts.

Lennon had an out-of-town tryout earlier this year in San Francisco, where it garnered mixed to negative reviews. Scardino and his creative time have making significant changes during the New York previews, which began on July 7.
