Maybe the Tonyest Tony of all is Tony Danza, who is well known for playing not one, not two, but three on-screen characters named Tony. Here you see Tony Danza in one of his rare Tony-free moments, as Max Bialystock in Broadway's The Producers.
Multi-award-winning playwright, librettist, and screenwriter Tony Kushner is such a fan of his moniker that he's started collecting tchotchkes of the same name. He's won two Tony Awards for his play Angels in America and racked up two more Tony noms for his musical Caroline, or Change.
This talented comic actor hit his Tony prime in the late '60s when he was nominated for two of the awards. This god among Tonys (he played Zeus in Xanadu) has also been seen in The Royal Family and Barefoot in the Park.
Did she "take a step too far" leaving Broadway? We wish she would unbreak our hearts and come back to the Great White Way. Maybe to reprise her role in a revival of Aida? She has six Grammys, but this Toni needs a Tony!
Best known as the obsessive-compulsive television detective Adrian Monk, this Tony is returning to the land of Tony nominees after a hiatus of almost two decades. Before he was golden in Golden Boy, Shalhoub received a Tony nomination for his 1992 performance in Conversations with my Father. He's pictured here in the Second Stage production of The Scene.
This Australian Tony earned a Tony nomination for his Broadway debut in Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical. His mother, Toni, a cabaret singer and actress, must have been very proud.
Seen here with Yancey Arias, Toni Collette gave a memorable performance in Michael John LaChiusa's 2000 musical The Wild Party, her only Broadway role to date. But she was nominated for a Tony!
This actor-singer is no American Idiot, but he played one in the Tony-nominated Green Day musical. No Tony noms yet, but with The Voice as good as his, we're sure they can't be far off.
This Tony made his mark on Broadway in the revival of A Chorus Line, and he has the distinction of having appeared in two Broadway revivals of Gypsy: as a newsboy in the 1989 production and as toe-happy farmboy Tulsa in the 2008 mounting. All he needs now is the girl...and a Tony.
So her name ends with an A, but close enough, amiright? She's a musical theater superstar who won a Tony for Jelly's Last Jam and was nominated for Play On! and Caroline, or Change, a show with a lot of Tony luck (it was written by Tony Kushner, another Tony featured on this list).
