Yisrael Campbell’s Circumcise Me to End Run June 27; Show to Tour in 2011

Comedian Yisrael Campbell will play his final performance of Circumcise Me at The Bleecker Street Theater on Sunday, June 27 at 7pm.

The production, directed by Sam Gold, began performances on November 1, and had an official opening of November 11. Circumcise Me aims to launch a tour in the Winter of 2011, although no details regarding tour stops are currently available.

Campbell, who was born Catholic, tells a personal journey through his struggles with drugs and alcohol and his eventual salvation in the Jewish faith. Campbell’s other theater credits include Bed Set, Einstein Was Right and It’s Not In Heaven. The film Circumcise Me, a documentary on Campbell’s life, is currently playing in film festivals around the country.

The creative team for Circumcise Me includes Perchik Kreiman-Miller (set/lighting design) and Aaron Rhyne (scenic/video design).
