The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (A.R.T./New York) has announced plans to build two new 99-seat theaters at the Archstone-Clinton development located at 53rd Street and 10th Avenue. They will be designed by award-winning architect, Toshiko Mori with a planned opening in 2013.

Mori has been asked to design spaces that allow for flexibility with respect to performance space, audience seating, and the use of light.

A.R.T./New York, which will receive a 2010 Tony Honor for Excellence in Theatre as part of 64th annual Tony Awards celebration this weekend, is a leadership and advocacy organization for more than 300 of New York City's not-for-profit theaters.
