Wicked's Eden Espinosa Nominated for Independent Music Award

Espinosa’s nominated single “Stone Cold Sober” is featured on her debut solo album ”Look Around”.

Broadway performer Eden Espinosa, best known for her turn as Elphaba in the long-running musical Wicked, has been nominated for an Independent Music Award for her single "Stone Cold Sober" from her debut solo album Look Around, which was released in December 2012. Written by Ty Taylor, the song earned a nomination in the category of Adult Contemporary Song of the Year. Since its release, the album has also garnered recognition by the 2013 International Music and Entertainment Awards, winning Pop CD/Album of the Year, Producer of the Year (Joseph Abate), and Pop Female Vocalist of the Year (Eden Espinosa).

Now in its 13th year, the IMAs celebrate "the democracy of creativity and meritocracy of talent," honoring independent artists frequently passed over by the mainstream media. The IMAs will be awarded later this month by a panel of influential artist and industry judges, with a second Vox Populi (popular vote) determination to be made in July 2014. Winners will receive active promotions, distribution, and performance opportunities that will place them in front of nearly 1 billion music fans.
