The Broadway revival of Lyle Kessler’s Orphans will end its run at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on May 19, producers have announced. Directed by Daniel Sullivan, the Tony Award-nominated revival officially opened on April 18 after beginning previews on March 26. The production will have played 27 previews and 37 regular performances. It was originally scheduled to close on June 30.

Alec Baldwin, Ben Foster, and 2013 Tony Award nominee Tom Sturridge lead the cast of the dark comedy, which follows two brothers (Foster and Sturridge) living in a North Philadelphia row house who discover the father figure they’ve yearned for in Harold (Baldwin), a gangster one of the brothers has kidnapped.

Foster and Sturridge make their New York stage debuts in the drama, while Baldwin returns to Broadway for the first time since his performance in Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2004 revival of Twentieth Century. Produced by Frederick Zollo and Robert Cole, Orphans features scenic design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by Jess Goldstein, lighting design by Pat Collins, and sound design by Peter Fitzgerald, with Tom Kitt as the composer.
