Works by Sholem Aleichem, Howard Zinn, and More Set for Festival of Jewish Theater & Ideas

Untitled Theater Co. #61 will present a Festival of Jewish Theater & Ideas, May 20-June 14, in conjunction with the Association for Jewish Theatre – International Conference (June 6-10).

The festival will include documentary theatre, puppet theatre, adaptations, commedia del’arte, Yiddish theatre, Israeli theatre, midrash, cabaret, and burlesque.

Highlights will include the English-Language premiere of Sholem Aleichem’s Mentshn, translated by Ellen Perecman and Yermiyahu Ahron Taub, adapted by Ellen Perecman & Clay McLeod Chapman, and directed by Marc Geller; the New York premiere of Howard Zinn’s Emma, directed by Martina Plag, about Emma Goldman; and the world premiere of Doctors Jane & Alexander written and directed by Edward Einhorn, with music by Alexander S. Wiener and Henry Akona.
