Second Stage Theatre’s production of Everyday Rapture, a new show with music starring and co-written by Sherie Rene Scott, has extended its run through June 14.

The show, co-authored by Dick Scanlan, is directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer and features musical staging by Michel Lynch, musical supervision and orchestrations by Tom Kitt, and musical direction by Carmel Dean.

The loosely autobiographical piece, which opened to rave reviews, uses a diverse selection of pre-existing tunes to serve as the soundtrack to Scott’s life story, which she shares with the audience in short vignettes. It includes songs made famous by David Byrne, George Harrison, U2, The Dap Kings, and Judy Garland.

The cast also includes Eamon Foley, Lindsey Mendez, and Betsy Wolfe. The show features set design by Christine Jones, costume design by Tom Broecker, lighting design by Kevin Adams, and sound design by Brian Ronan.

Scott’s New York credits include The Litte Mermaid, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, for which she received a Tony Award nomination, Aida, Landscape of the Body, The Last 5 Years, and Debbie Does Dallas.
