David Strathairn to Replace Victor Slezak in Beauty on the Vine

Academy Award nominee David Strathairn will replace Victor Slezak in the Epic Theatre Center’s production of Zak Berkman’s Beauty on the Vine at the Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row for its final week of performances, May 29-Jun 2.

The play, about a female, right-wing radio show host who is brutally murdered, is directed by David Schweizer. The show also stars Olivia Wilde, Helen Piper Coxe, Barbara Garrick, Howard Overshown, and Jessica Richardson. The creative team features Narelle Sissons (sets), Gabrielle Barry (costumes), Justin Townsend (lighting), and Ryan Rumery (sound).

Strathairn’s many stage credits include Salome, Dance of Death, The Three Sisters, and Einstein and the Polar Bear. He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of Edward R. Murrow in Good Night, and Good Luck, and has appeared in such films as Dolores Claiborne and The River Wild.
