Cody, Duncan, O’Donnell, Simard, Stern, et al. Join Cast of Shrek the Musical

Additional casting has been announced for Shrek The Musical, which will begin performances at the Broadway Theatre on November 8, after its world premiere engagement at The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, August 14-September 21. It will be directed by Jason Moore, with choreography by Josh Prince.

As previously announced, Brian d’Arcy James will play Shrek, Chester Gregory II will play Donkey, John Tartaglia will play Pinnochio, Sutton Foster will play Princess Fiona, Christopher Sieber will play Lord Farquaad, and Kecia Lewis-Evans will play The Dragon. Joining them will be Haven Burton, Jennifer Cody, Bobby Daye, Ryan Duncan, Sarah Jane Everman, Aymee Garcia, Justin Greer, Lisa Ho, Chris Hoch, Danette Holden, Jacob Ming-Trent, Carolyn Ockert-Haythe , Marissa O’Donnell, Denny Paschall, Noah Rivera, Heather Jane Rolff, Jennifer Simard, Rachel Stern, Dennis Stowe, and David F.M. Vaughn.

The show, which is based on the story and characters from William Steig’s book Shrek!, as well as the DreamWorks Animation film Shrek, the first chapter of the popular movie series, features book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire, and music by Jeanine Tesori. It will feature sets and costumes by Tim Hatley, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound design by Peter Hylenski, and music direction by Tim Weil.
