The show will be directed by Leigh Silverman. Yellow Face is a co-production with the East West Players and The Public Theater, which will present it as part of its 2007-2008 season. Hwang is the author of such works as M. Butterfly, Golden Child, Face Value, and the book for the Broadway revisal of Flower Drum Song.

The production team includes David Korins (sets), Myung Hee Cho (costumes), Donald Holder (lighting), and Darron L. West (sound). Among Silverman's many directorial credits are Well and Blue Door.
