David Alan Grier and Cast of Broadway’s Porgy and Bess to Perform on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

David Alan Grier and the company of Broadway’s Porgy and Bess are set to perform on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon as part of the program’s Broadway Week, February 21. Late Night with Jimmy Fallon airs at 12:35am ET on NBC.

Porgy and Bess is set in Charleston’s fabled Catfish Row, where the beautiful Bess struggles to break free from her scandalous past and the only one who can rescue her is the crippled but courageous Porgy.

Grier stars in the production as Sporting Life. During his career, he has starred on Broadway in Race, The First, Dreamgirls, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. His many film and television credits include Streamers, In Living Color, Damon, and The Bonnie Hunt Show. He has received two Tony Award nominations and has been named one of Comedy Central’s “100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time”.
