Warren Carlyle will direct and choreograph Becoming Chaplin on Broadway. The show is expected to open during the 2012-2013 season at a theater to be announced.

With music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and book by Thomas Meehan, the show charts the life of silent film legend Charlie Chaplin, from his beginnings in the slums of London to the years when he was the toast of Hollywood. The musical was previously produced under the title Limelight at the La Jolla Playhouse in 2010.

Carlyle’s other Broadway credits include directing and choreographing Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway, Finian’s Rainbow and A Tale of Two Cities, and providing the dances for Follies.

In addition, he staged Cotton Club Parade at New York City Center earlier this season and provided choreography for A Christmas Story, The Musical on tour.
