Miles Davis, Jose Ferrer, Édith Piaf to Be Honored with 2012 Commemorative Stamps

Jazz trumpet Miles Davis and acclaimed singer Édith Piaf are the latest additions to the United States’ Forever stamp series, according to The New York Times.

They join the previously reported Tony and Academy Award winner Jose Ferrer, along with writer O. Henry, entertainer Danny Thomas, and magazine publisher John H. Johnson, who are also being honored in 2012 with Forever stamps, which are equal in value to the prevailing first-class letter rate.

In addition, Davis and Piaf will also be commemorated with stamps in France this year.
