Kecia Lewis-Evans, Bryce Ryness, Bob Stillman, Aspen Vincent, et al. Set for McCarter’s Sleeping Beauty Wakes

The McCarter Theatre in Princeton, New Jersey, has announced complete casting for its production of the new musical, Sleeping Beauty Wakes, to be presented April 29-June 5, with an opening on May 6. Rebecca Taichman will direct.

Featuring a book by Rachel Sheinkin, and a score by composer Brendan Milburn and lyricist Valerie Vigoda, the show delves into the magical space between dreaming and waking in an unexpected twist on a classic tale. In it, a young beauty is brought to a sleep disorder clinic, and soon all the patients find themselves sharing a familiar dream.

The cast will be led by Kecia Lewis-Evans (Doctor), Bryce Ryness (Orderly), Bob Stillman (King), and Aspen Vincent (Beauty), and also feature Adinah Alexander, Jimmy Ray Bennett, Steve Judkins, and Donna Vivino.

The production will feature choreography by Doug Varone, musical direction by James Sampliner, scenic design by Riccardo Hernandez, costume design by Miranda Hoffman, lighting design by Christopher Akerlind, projection design by Peter Nigrini, and sound design by Leon Rothenberg.
