Paper Mill Playhouse has announced its 2011-2012 season which, as previously reported, will open with the premiere of the new Disney stage musical, Newsies (September 15-October 16), featuring music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, a new book by Harvey Fierstein, and direction by Jeff Calhoun.

The 2011 holiday season will feature the New Jersey premiere of White Christmas (November 16-December 18), based on the beloved Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye film, and featuring music and lyrics of the legendary Irving Berlin.

In the new year, Paper Mill will present Marc Camoletti’s comedy Boeing-Boeing (January 18-February 12), about an American playboy juggling three flight-attendant fiancées. Next will be the musical comedy Damn Yankees (March 7-April 1), in which a fan makes a devilish deal so that his favorite baseball team will beat the Yankees.

The season will close with Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty’s musical Once on This Island (May 30- June 24), telling a tale of romance, tragedy, redemption and rebirth with sunny songs, captivating choreography and an irresistible Calypso beat.
