Daniel Gerroll, Dearbhla Molloy, Stephen Yoakam, et al. Set for Guthrie Theater in Fall 2011

The Guthrie Theater has announced partial casting for its three Fall 2011 productions.

Daniel Gerroll will star as Benedick opposite the previously reported Tony Award nominee Dearbhla Molloy as Beatrice in Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing (September 10 – November 5). Joe Dowling will direct the production, which will also feature Bill McCallum as Claudio, Michelle O’Neill as Hero, and Peter Michael Goetz as Dogberry.

Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney’s The Burial At Thebes (September 24 – November 6) will star Sun Mee Chomet as Antigone, with Greta Oglesby as Tiresias, Regina Marie Williams as Eurydice, Stephen Yoakam as Creon, Ansa Akyea as the Messenger, and Ernest Bentley as Haemon. Marcela Lorca will direct the production, which will feature original music by J.D. Steele.

Obie Award-winning playwright Adam Rapp’s new play The Edge of Our Bodies (October 22 – November 20) will star Ali Rose Dachis as Bernadette, a young woman at the threshold of vulnerability and experience, who is achingly articulate about everything she can’t control. Benjamin McGovern will direct.
