CENTERSTAGE Cancels Toni Morrison’s Jazz
Baltimore’s CENTERSTAGE has canceled its previously reported plans to produce the world premiere musical adaptation of Toni Morrison’s Jazz, adapted by Marion McClinton.
A press release from the theater notes that “After a weeklong workshop in Minneapolis last week, it was decided the new play with music will require a longer development period than originally anticipated.”
In a few weeks, CENTERSTAGE intends to announce a replacement for Jazz, which had been scheduled to run January 4-February 5.
