Playbox Theatre's Monkey - Journey To The West Set to Premiere at Santa Monica Playhouse

Santa Monica Playhouse will present two productions by sister theatre, Playbox Theatre, who will present the world premiere of their new work, Monkey - Journey To The West, October 30; as well as Women on Men - a woman's perspective on men in music, theatre and musical theatre, October 29.

Monkey was created by Emily Jane Quash with the help of Playbox company members, and is based on the Chinese tale of The Monkey King. Women on Men will be a one-night only cabaret on the theme of a woman's perspective of men in music, theatre and musical theatre.

The ensemble for both productions will include Lawrie Abdullah, Chloe Allsopp, Cressie Arkwright, Tom Ball, Liam Bessell, Sophie Drew, Charli Gower, Kezia Harper, Lydia Harper, Isaac Hickinbottom, Becky Hill, Mike Hood, Hannah Johnson, Theo Lamb, Danny Loveridge, Aimee Matthews, Miles Lynch, Lauren Orrock, and Holly Robinson.
