Tom Hanks and Annette Bening will play Petruchio and Kate in an all-star stage reading of William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew at 7:30pm on Monday, May 19 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.

The event supports Shakespeare Festival LA's annual free production of a Shakespeare play performed in downtown L.A. each summer and the company's Will Power to Youth educational outreach programs.

The cast will also include Christina Applegate (Bianca), Tim Allen (Hortensio), Sean Astin (Biondello), Peter Bonerz (Vincentio), Zach Braff (Lucentio), Tommy Chong (the Pedant), Arte Johnson (Gremio), Steve Root (Drumio), David Schwimmer (Tranio), William Shatner (Baptista), and Rita Wilson (the Widow). The production will also feature live music and songs by Lyle Lovett.
