Elton John Composing Score for Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes Film

Elton John has begun to write the score for the animated firlm Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes, according to Deadline.com.


The film, a sequel to Gnomeo & Juliet, will be written by Andy Riley and Kevin Cecil. No director has been chosen.


According to the site, when gnomes start disappearing from the suburban gardens of England, Gnomeo, Juliet and friends enlist the help of Sherlock Gnomes, “the greatest ornamental detective,” to track the culprit.


John won a Tony for his score to Aida and has also composed the scores for the Broadway musicals Billy Elliot, The Lion King, and Lestat. He has been one of the top-selling recording artists in the world for over four decades.
