Casting has been announced for Eric Idle and John Du Prez’s What About Dick?, to be offered as a staged reading at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, April 26-29, according to a report in The Los Angeles Times. The production will be taped for eventual release as a concert film.

The show, a farce set partly in the early 20th century, focuses on the inventor of the vibrator and an Oxford student pursuing philosophy and gynecology, as well as their friends and family. The previous version of the piece was seen in 2007 at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre. Idle has expanded the script and Du Prez has added new songs.

The company will feature Idle and Du Prez, along with Russell Brand, Tim Curry, Billy Connolly, Eddie Izzard, Jane Leeves, Tracey Ullman, and Sophie Winkleman.
