The Cinema Audio Society has announced the nominees and special award winners for the 48th Annual CAS Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound

At the event, the CAS Filmmaker Award will be presented to director Rob Marshall. He received an Academy Award nomination for his direction of Chicago, and most recently directed Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. He has received Tony Award nominations for his work on Cabaret, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Damn Yankees, She Loves Me, and Little Me.
Among the films, television series, movies, miniseries, specials that received CAS nominations are Boardwalk Empire. Dexter, Great Performances at the Met: Nixon in China, Hugo, The Kennedys, Lady Gaga Monster Ball Tour, and Too Big to Fail.
