Vivo, With Songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Moves Up Release Date

The animated film will also feature a script by his ”In the Heights” collaborator Quiara Alegría Hudes.

According to published reports, Sony Pictures Animation's Vivo, which will feature 11 songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), will move up its release date. Originally set for December 18, 2020, it will now come out on November 6, 2020.

Vivo centers around a capuchin monkey with a passion for music and adventure who makes a dangerous trek from Havana to Miami to fulfill his destiny. Quiara Alegría Hudes, who collaborated with Miranda on In the Heights, wrote the script. Kirk De Micco, whose credits include The Croods, will direct.

Lisa Stewart is producing the film, with Laurence Mark executive producer.
