Tony winner Glenn Close may bring her triumphant Broadway performance as Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard to the big screen, The Wrap reports.

Close is in talks to star in a movie adaptation of Lloyd Webber's musical, which is inspired by Billy Wilder's seminal 1950 film. The stage musical features book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton, with additional lyric development by Amy Powers. Close originated the role of Norma on Broadway in 1994 and won her Tony Award. Earlier this year, she played an extended run reprising her performance at the Palace Theatre.

Paramount Pictures is behind the proposed new film, and is currently searching for a director and additional cast members. According to the The Wrap, Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story) was initially approached to direct, though no deals are currently in place.
