Supreme Master Television will re-broadcast The Real Love in twelve parts, beginning on Monday September 26. The concert program was originally broadcast live from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on August 27.

This Broadway-style musical is inspired by the life of Supreme Master Ching Hai, a world-renowned spiritual leader, humanitarian, bestselling author, poet and artist. It stars Joanna Ampil, Daisy Eagan, Cady Huffman, Adam Pascal, and Robert Torti, and features songs and dances that range from tap to disco to Indian.

The songs of the musical were based on Supreme Master Ching Hai’s poems, and set to music by composers Bill Conti, Al Kasha, Doug Katsaros, Don Pippin, and David Shire.

The concert event was hosted by Grant Aleksander, Ed Begley, Jr., Kristin Bauer, Elaine Hendrix, and Hayley Marie Norman, and included a number of special guests such as Betty Buckley, Filippa Giordano, Shirley Jones, Trent Kowalik, Kiril Kulish, Faith Rivera, Tom Schmid, Dick Van Patten, and Lynne Wintersteller.

In a guest performance that concluded the event, Don McLean performed some of his most famous hits including “American Pie” and “Castles in the Air,” and “Vincent.”
